Situated just a short walk from the centre of the historic town of Helston, Cornwall, Godolphin House Care Home has provided high quality residential care for the elderly since 1984. Newly refurbished, it is situated close to all local amenities.

Accommodation

Godolphin House Care home has 31 bedroom, comprising mainly of ensuite and luxury suites. Each room is fully furnished to a very high standard. We do however, encourage residents to bring items of their own furniture if they wish, together with other items with which to personalise their room.

Each room has:
  • Its own emergency and aid call bell.
  • Fitted carpets and fully furnished.
  • Centrally heated, with their own in-room heating control.
  • T.V. aerial socket with excellent digital TV reception.
  • Telephone point.
  • WiFi Access.
  • Emergency call system, so that even in the privacy of our resident's own room, a helping hand is always nearby, if required.
  • Breakfast in bed is always available, the choice is always yours.

We also have rooms which are wheelchair accessible, including an accessible bathroom and the lift is wheel chair accessible.

Godolphin House

The house itself is a handsome Victorian building sited within the "Helston Historic Conservation Area". Godolphin House has been tastefully refurbished to a high standard incorporating all the modern ameneties of today whilst retaining the charm and warm friendly atmosphere of the original building. We have 3 lounges and a dining room, all of which are spacious, pleasant, light and airy. These give our residents the choice of privacy or socialising. We have lift access to all three floors and a new Stannah double chair lift to the top floor.

It is important that residents feel "at home" rather than just "living in a home". We actively promote, encourage and honour individual choice in virtually every aspect of our residents' stay with us.

We operate our dining room in the style of a high quality restaurant with waiter / waitress service with plenty of choice and menu variation and daily 3 course lunch and regular Chefs Specials as per the display board. Most rooms have lovely views of the historic Victorian Godolphin Road or across the valley and countryside beyond.

Plants

We know how important house or garden plants can be to you; so why not bring them with you when you move in? We have dozens of house plants around the home that need plenty of TLC. Why not join our Gardening Club and help with watering, plant care, propagating and flower arranging? We even have outdoor borders and a special disability access raised planting bed ready for green fingers!

Inhouse Amenities

We have a shop which is open twice a week, a visiting Hairdresser who visits once a week and Chiropodist, Optician, Dentist and Clergy of all denominations, who visit on request.

We have our own transport arrangements for regular local trips and transporting residents to various clinics or medical appointments.

All laundry is prepared in-house.

Visiting

Friends and relatives are most welcome to visit and participate in activities and outings or to join us for lunch. Families are especially welcome to join in celebrating birthdays and special occasions enjoying mouth-watering home made cakes. For private visits, special occasions or fun "Club Nights" our quiet lounge is bookable in advance (please call or email to make arrangements). We have decorated and furnished this room to give a very homely ambience so that our residents and their guests can truly feel at home and not have to meet in their bedroom.

As we always encourage visits, there are normally no restrictions or fixed hours for visiting, and we have ample car parking, so the family can use us as a base for shopping when visiting.

To comply with smoking law, we operate a No Smoking policy throughout the building with a facility at the rear of the for residents and visitors.
